Since yesterday was a semi nice day I took the kids to feed the critters at Llano cemetary. They are always happy to see you and really want tthe bread!! Let's just say that 3 loaves of bread was not enough for all the water fowl...the kids had fun though! I spent most of the time hoping that August wouldn't fall in the nasty water! We took a nice stroll and went to visit some family members there. Lanta picked up all the random flower pieces on the ground abd gave them to Uncle Robby and Chris. Their grave is so pretty. I know what your are thinking..is Hilary morbid? No,I just want the kids to know that a cemetary is not a sad place but more of a stopping place before you go to be with God. Does that make sense? As a kid where we lived in Utah we had a great cemetary that we would go ride our bikes at and go for walks so I guess I never have had the whole idea that a cematary is a sad place....Have a great week.

I learned to walk at Llano cemetary. We used to visit cemetaries on family vactions when I was a child. Studying the graves is a great way to feel connected to a place. You see things such as local medical epidemics or natural disasters reflected in the dates of deaths and births. Letting the kids know that death is a natural part of things is very good parenting. grandad alan
